Reasons Why You Should Be Happy

from google.com

Facts of being happy:

#1 “Practice wanting what you have and it will feel even sweeter when you eventually have what you want. Look around—what’s in front of you that can enjoy?”

#2 “While positive emotion tends to broaden thought, negative emotion tends to narrow it and hold back development….The findings of Dr Keltner and his colleagues, published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, are among the first to show that differences in the extent to which people express emotion may be stable throughout their lives and dictate personal and social success.”

#3 “Christopher Peterson, Ph.D of the University of Michigan—who has studied optimism’s link to health for over 20 years—shows optimistic people have a stronger immune system than their negative counterparts. This may be due to their tendency to take better care of themselves. Choose to be happy now and you’ll have more days of good health to enjoy.”

#4 “Think about the things that fill you with the most joy—spending time with your pets, listening to the rain, and running on the beach, for example. Focus on those things right now, and let them brighten your day. That way, no matter what changes, you’ll have a variety of simple pleasures to help you through.”

#5 “Every day is a new opportunity to be better than yesterday; that pursuit can increase your self esteem and, accordingly, your happiness. ”

What You Can Do With P50 in Davao

How would you spend an amount of P50.00 while in Davao?

Davaoeños were known to be cheap expenders (I’m not going to deny that either) since the economy in the city is good and robust. Every citizen here can spend P50.00 wisely but “How” to start with… Here’s how:

This can be spent wisely just in one day. As tourist or local, you don’t need to worry any extra expenditure to stay in Davao. For as long as its spent responsibly.

Freelancing: Latest Trend in Self-Employment

google.com

The Philippine Economy is now at stake and in plunge in fighting against bigger dilemmas every now and then. Many are hoping to be hired, get hired and hired back as employers and company are looking for alternatives to withstand the downpour of our economy.

Job hunters are always in the jungle to hunt for job vacancies available in the industry since many declines in staying here since due to low paying jobs are on high. As an alternative many choose to be home based or so-called freelancing than employed. Setting differences in self-employment and employment is the latest trend in a country such like.

If you’re a skillful individual or loves to work at home, chances of becoming a freelancer is a great option rather than abroad state. Though you have to watch the industry because competition has a greater mileage here in the Philippines.

Ways to Succeed in Freelancing:

  • Establish A Name

Research on effective marketing strategies to be more visible in clients, your clients known as customers press on your works and your services so you have to capture their attention on you alone.

  • Define Your Services

Be sincere with your clients regarding your services. Your services are your asset. Depending on how you present them. If it gives your clients an impression to get their attention, do spoil the moment.

  • Be An Effective Freelancer

To become an effective freelancer, know your target market on how to benchmark your name, it only takes a lot of calibration (meaning hard work) to keep up with the industry. The industry demands hard earners meaning as a freelancer, there are competitors beforehand who are far more efficient than you are. So as a starter or rookie, be a fare player and competitor. Take values along with you to marginalize your name as your own.

  • Make Your Clients Happy

Clients love working with individuals as no company or agency is holding them back on what they do. Clients love to work with direct contact with a freelancer which is vastly different from employees who work under surveillance of from their boss plus strictly business. To make your client happy, always be open mind with several ideas and deal with them professionally.

  • Establish Your Own Brand

Make yourself an effective employee to your clients. Create a relationship with your clients to make them come back to you without any doubts, some sort of having a good record with them.

If you know you are ready to be a freelancer then feel free to become one. Think of having a potential you might be sitting in front of a computer talking to clients.

Marylin Monroe As An Iconic Woman of Our Time

It’s 2011 and Marilyn Monroe still lives in our generation as an iconic woman of our century. In her time, she was known to be the Most Famous Female Woman in the world known for her ads, beauty, singing and acting career.  She got her fame in 50’s and left a mark of her most iconic photos as her trademark.

According to my dad, she’s the Most Beautiful Woman in his time. Way back then she was named the Sexiest Woman in her time and the first to pose for Playboy Magazine first edition.

We might see her as a poser for the Playboy Magazine but unknowingly she’s a businesswoman. Better yet we thought she was one of those dumb blonds.

Iconic Photos

Today

We know her as a woman of her unique history, fortune, life and career throughout ages. In her time. Men truly praise her. And today, with her image, each woman would represent her but many Hollywood actress pose like her, dress, act and think like her, which is sometimes unattractive though (just from my viewpoint).

If I were Advertiser Today

photo from: google.com

I’d be probably doing marketing plan, to make up for the company penetrating their products in the market.

I’d be doing advertisements, posters, marketing consultations about outputs of our designers or employers.

I’d be posting ads in my facebook status which will be hilarious because I don’t do that a lot. I might as well be running on heels with companies who would want their products to be advertised. I might be doing teachings on branding concepts for the branding industry. Depending on how things will work with me as the marketing strategist (some sort).

However, branding with the enhancement of social networking is fast paced and crazy hay. It’s a whirlwind of changes moving around fast. If you can’t catch them then find them. It’s a competition between company’s big players in companies battling over who’s who to get the goal.

Even the top competitors in the market would want to beat the biggest names in the industry. Hiring talented people marketing, doing this and that, would be a twist from my career.

This is the work of most advertisers. They look on the big changes they would want to put seen by people, heard by people and acknowledged by people. A lot of convincing strategies to be done right ahead on a fast going environment.

As an advertiser, you should think and act quickly, summarize all the contents needed to be ahead of others. Its not even easy to market though.

Recycling Ideas in Creative Ways

If you don’t want to waste money on buying stuff then try recycling. It’s a recreational way to develop artistry and practically rather than buying stuff. Recycling resolves your house space especially when you live in an apartment, condo or have your own home.

Paper Art

photo from: google.com

Make use of Paper as Art. Its better to make use of used paper creating an art.

Paper mashes are simple yet creative. As art it can be a poster, mug, cup or pencil case. Depending on how you define creativity.

Paper is simply recyclable because it doesn’t have an exact shape. It can be formed in different shapes and sizes. Mostly you’ll get a lot of used paper in offices.  It can be artistically created as a necklace just like vintage necklaces made from paper.

Lights Made out from Tubes

Throwing up incandescent tubes can wound people especially when thrown away, elsewhere. But if you think there’s an idea you want to add up in your living room.

Try tube lights. Its simple and adds vibrancy in your room space.

Bulbing Up Lights

photo from: webcoist.com

More bulbs lighting up! You don’t have to buy a P1000.00 worth chandelier to have one. Instead collect all your used up bulbs to create one that looks like this. Be more conventional. Its better to be practical in a more creative sense.

Ballpen Chandelier

photo from: webcoist.com

Ball pens are easily thrown away oftentimes when we no longer use them. Although its nuisance we save some to create a chandelier to look like this one. Its good to make it more appealing than saving up for junk. Instead collect ones that appeals the most. And you won’t regret doing it.

Lamp Blender

photo from: webcoist.com

Its difficult to imagine that we don’t regret on throwing away used blenders without realizing their recycling purpose. If you want to create a more modern idea on how to use up things. Try recreating a blender lamp. It adds up luminosity within the kitchen.

Always Remember…

Be creative, resourceful and be  an idealist. If you want to save up, take these tips which guarantees you more opportunities. You can open business for this one.

Noontime Shows: The Good and The Bad

image: google.com

As part of our culture, we dine in the table with food, family and TV. Without Television we can’t enjoy our meal, discussion with our family and the food. Noontime Shows help us improve our relationship with our loved one as well as strengthening our communication with them.

Are we concerned with the quality of television we are now having?

It’s okay to say that television gives us information expounded by the media.

If you are to consider the type of economy, social, culture, society and people we have. Its an eye opener to know that quality of television is degrading as much as it affects the viewers watching it.

Reviewing most of the tv shows that we have today. Simply they are truth behind the NEWS, the information relayed towards the viewers but what I’m seeing is the opposite.

I’d name 2 tv shows in one network station that I’d like to state as examples on my review.

Happy Yippee Yehey – The Bad

Happy Yippee Yehey – The Bad

The show is terrific yet it lacks the capacity to pull the viewers to learn something out of it.

Yes- Celebs are popular

Yes- The show is a hit as a replacement for WOWOWEE

Yes- It’s entertaining

Yes- They no longer profit from advertisers unlike WOWOWEE (Advertisers are very profiting from that show).

Yes- The show doesn’t have a clear point at all.

Yes- The show might now last a year.

No- It’s boring because it doesn’t have meaty (Educational or learning) contents. Wowowee is different, it’s a unique show because it portrays the real life of a Filipino, a reality we shoud face. The show is about entertainment so it portrays a message that goes says “Enjoy our show and forget your problems”. It’s part of reality, we face our problems.

No- It’s degrading because there’s no quality in the show. It’s plain entertainment.

Showtime – The Good

image from: google.com

Showtime – The Good

The show is pulling off top of the top ratings at noon but its not my point. The show is more than entertainment because it’s a show for young people to be inspired.

Yes- Its inspiring dancers to keep dancing and may head off to a new venture.

Yes- It offers a lot of new opportunities.

Yes- The people within the show creates new ideas to make people laugh

Yes-  It’s a venue for new opportunities. Dancers who are aspiring to be part of the industry.

Yes- Aside from its entertaining, the show not only focuses on dancing alone. It gives people a chance to share what they’ve been through.

No- I can say no negative comments to the show.

Therefore, aside from entertainment, as a viewer, you have to understand the show itself.

Every show is a product of an idea. Whether it is good or bad, you have to understand your place as well.

Bond of Brothers

This article is dedicated to my Papa and Lolo Dok2. With love, Lara.

By Lara Lorraine Cada

An invitation came late afternoon yesterday Saturday from our beloved relatives who traveled from Samal to visit on a little home. We surprised that they came all along to visit us. Yet it’s not me whom they are going to visit. It was my father, one of the eldest brothers of the family and a head of the Cada clan, they are visiting. We were invited on a family affair that celebrates fiesta on their barangay.

A Sunday afternoon spends most of my time with my family along with 2 other families who are close to us. At 9 am, we headed off to Sasa to travel from land through barge where vehicles are transported to the island. It was a simple gathering that my dad was able to gaze a smile for all of us.

Everybody got out from the car to grasp air from the sea making it more memorable to remember, as we docked on the port, a moment of 10 minutes transport on the sea. Finally, we arrived on the exact time as expected everybody got in instantly heading to Lolo Dok-dok’s house.

When we checked the house only two of my cousins who were present, looking at the house, it was simple and welcoming. My dad came out from the car quickly because he was looking for someone. And I followed him, I asked him not to leave the house because he might get lose again. I was afraid that the incident from last year where he got lost and never came back would be repeated. He insisted that he would go the right direction.

As he was looking for the house that he wished it was there. A pedicab was at our back and a man yelled, “Asa man mo noy?” he glanced back and said, “DoK! (With a tear from his eyes) Musta naman ka? ” (How are you?). “Ok lang man ko noy!” (I’m ok brother), Lolo Dok said.

It was a moment that seems to be timeless. Since the incident last year with our entire family going through, we became in tact and became stronger. As I stared behind them, they hugged each other. Small tears from both poured down.

I guess that was a long day after all when everybody was set asleep, sharing stories, memorabilias and stuff that make our family stronger.

As I was looking at the two brothers they have never been detached, it was a meaningful bond for both of them, after years of struggles and heartaches.  Both were holding hands tightly looking at them sharing stories way back when they were young. How I wish I got my camera to capture the moment. Yet the sun sets to dawn and the light was perfectly there’s to witness.

Guidelines to determine whether or not you are stuck on your comfort zone

There’s a follow up version of getting out from your comfort zone from my previous article.

These are some of the things that you have been doing that’s why things “Doesn’t Work”:

1. “You’re often bored with yourself.”

2. “You feel that your accomplishments are pretty worthless.”

3. “You think your daily after-school activities are mostly pointless.”

4. “You don’t seem to enjoy things the way others do.”

5. “You make promises to yourself that you never keep.”

6. “You have no goals.”

7. “You’re a little scared.”

8. “You think your life doesn’t have much of a purpose.”

by Anonymous

If any of these suggests that is positive of what you are thinking. Maybe its time to be out of your comfort zone. Leave that zone and seek life to the fullest. Become what you wanted to become and always think positive. Read lots of success stories and that might add up from who you really are.

Make your life worth it and be fulfilling. Things not only revolve around you alone. Let others enter your life and change will happen instantly as soon as you will know that you need to move forward.
