The best way to bridge the gap in learning is to listen, seek and speak.
Yesterday, the DUAAD (Davao United Animators Association of Animators and Designers Inc.) launched the first Graphic Design Conference called GraphiCon Davao 2011 themed “I am Graphic Design, I am for Peace”.
The said event was held at Abreeza Mall, December 1, 2011. The event started at 1 PM and adjourned at 7 PM. The crowd was responsive from our online registration until the walk-in participation of the participants. The event was a success since it garnered many participants from different prospects in the field of graphics design. Majority of whom participated are students and professionals who are willing to learn in motion design, delightful interactive flash graphics, career opportunities and a whole lot more that bombarded the minds of our young generation.
Many surprises await the crowd from sample dances to a whole lot of gameshow play given by one of our speakers, Mr. Sonny Leon. Many giveaways were given to the participants granted by our official sponsors.

It was the moment of truth to expose davaeñoes in graphics design. The team invited speakers from Manila, Cebu and a our very own Davaoeño expert.
The Speakers
This was a wholesome event for graphic artists, enthusiast, professionals and student participants in a whole bunch of learning from motions design, basics and animation. It was the first in Davao to launch such a big event that caters the need of our homegrown talents.
These was organized by DUAAD, a team of homegrown various talents in graphics. Speculated many bright minds that inspired a generation of today to continue nourish in graphics design.
Next year (2012), the (DUAAD) team is hoping for another GraphiCon that promises a whole new venture of learning, fun and excitement for the creative minds to embody its nature of creativity.

On March 26, 2011 – Saturday next month, the indie band from the South, Urbandub will be performing live at The Tent Matina Town Square. Other performances will include Spasm, Polar Depth, Ten in a row, Azimuth and Davao Karate Club.
Urbandub has been known for its unique composition of alternative songs. They’ve been around for almost a decade dominating north, south, east and west which already includes abroad. They’ve performed other countries giving them more more fans not just any other bands.
Since 2003 with their hit single “Soul Searching” and “New Tattoo”. It was the highlight of the beginning of their new career. Giving cebuanos a proud local beat of tune amongst other local bands. With their come back this year at Davao, it has been one of the most awaited event for rockers to rock with Urbandub.
